Kawari-nuri is created through a repeated process of patterning, multiple layers of urushi, and careful polishing. Drawing on traditional techniques from Tsugaru-nuri and sword scabbard lacquering, each piece is completed with Bokumondoh’s unique interpretation and sensibility.
